"The Experiment" was a short film commenting on the advent of high definition video technology within the context of traditional mediums. After exhaustive research into HD technology, its capabilities, weaknesses, and strengths, I decided to focus my piece on color. I discovered that High Definition Video picks up greater resolution image as well as a wider range of color gradations and subtleties. Using this as a clue I wanted an extreme contrast of colors. In a set of just one color, the HD camera pick up the subtlety of forms previous video technology might have processed out. The final result is a collage of HD Video and 16mm film.
